BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Technology - Womenswear

An enthusiastic and dynamic graduate of fashion design and technology, with 3+years experiences in design and product development of luxury and premium brands in the US, UK and Asian, up to the high street level. Specialising in womenswear, with knowledge across menswear and activewear. Have a strong understanding of concept development and research through project and academic work. Experienced in working under pressure without losing sight on meeting deadlines and goals, well organised and fast learning. Exemplary problem solving and organisational skills as a Team Leader. Can demonstrate a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude through work and academic life. 


Completed a year of placement in Hong Kong at Li & Fung as Design Assistant.(Key clients: Champion, Primark, John Varvatos, Kate Spades, Express, J. Jill, Lucky Brand). Also done a summer internship in London at House of Holland. These experiences allowed me to develop new and existing skills to industry standard, as well as learning new processes to build my understanding and knowledge in the ever changing fast pace fashion industry.

I look to design and create garments with longevity as well as practicality for the strong, independent and creative women of todays society. Interested in working further in design and/or product development roles where experience in CAD, digital fashion (CLO 3D/Gerber), garment and pattern technology could be further explored.

  • Introduced and supported 20 international L6 top-up students into CLO3D through a Creative Digital T-shirt Project

  • Rejoined and promoted from intern to design assistant, working independently and as part of a team in the research, design and sampling for Halloween and Christmas 2021 collection

  • Conceived layout design, arrange text and illustrations on seasonal products and packaging

  • Collaborated with design and merchandise teams for showroom set up and pack down for campaign - developed visual merchandising and storytelling skills

Design Assistant | Li & Fung Ltd.

  • Responsible for assisting the design team in all levels of the design & product development cycle of the Fall20 & SS21 collection across menswear, womenswear and activewear lines covering outerwear, dress, skirts, trousers, tops, woven and jersey

  • Developed mood, trend & colour boards and designs for clients within the brand aesthetic, worked with archives to create and recreate styles in tight deadline for multiple clients including Champion, Primark, John Varvatos, Kate Spades, Express, J. Jill, Lucky Brand

  • Created detailed tech packs using CAD and by hand with clear and precise instructions to the factories

  • Collaborated with merchandise, garment tech, and production teams to meet style, quality and price objectives

  • Followed up from meetings/sending out, documented samples and chased new developments 

  • Sourced and maintained solid relationship with Far East manufacturers and suppliers 

  • Developed a richer knowledge of fabrics and their different properties

  • Support in running 20 weeks worth of workshops that have covered area's from design and drawing to pattern cutting, sewing, buying and promotion

  • Worked with the design team in assisting design development through sourcing, pattern cutting, toile making and being attentive during fittings for SS19 collection

  • Developed knowledge of creating toiles, and accurate patterns for RTW tailoring, dress, skirts, trousers and tops

  • Researched latest trend and create design packs; organised samples to be printed, embroidered or photographed 

  • Developed a good eye for colour, texture and shape through assisting Sam Ranger in Resort19 styling photoshoot

  • Dressed backstage at London Fashion Week; demonstrated flexibility and strong multi-tasking skills

  • Developed negotiation skills both over the phone and in person through negotiating prices and resolving material souring issues, product and design details with suppliers and buyers

  • Responsible for assisting the design & sales team in developing products to meet a brief, design focusing on seasonal decorative products for different holidays, key accounts are ASDA, Publix, Shopper Drug, John Lewis etc.

  • Liaised closely with sales and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure items suit the customer, market and price points. Strongly enhanced communication skills as well as teamwork and independent working

  • Administration work in the form of data entry; organising stock and displays in the showroom

  • Responsible for researching, drawing and placing embroidery artwork on SS17 RTW and Pre-Collections, mainly women collection, range from casual-wear to party wear at competitive prices
